Riding in a group can make road cycling more enjoyable! We’ll teach you essential skills to ride safely and confidently in traffic.

Lucy Cronin is a Level 2 British Cycling Coach and Level 1 Ride Leader, a Level 2 Bikeability Instructor with a Level 2 Diploma in Cycling, along with qualifications in first aid, safeguarding, cycle maintenance, and life coaching.
Lucy has received local and national awards for her volunteering efforts in cycling and is passionate about helping everyone enjoy riding and discover all the health and social benefits of cycling.

For adults and children of any age, including those who may feel nervous or worried, our bike lessons in Bury offer tried and tested methods. Most participants are able to start pedalling independently within an hour. For anyone who needs extra support after that, a further 1-2-1 skills session or group skills session with Bury Bike Skillz is advisable. At the beginning of each session, we will take a short time to check the bike's roadworthiness and rider position.

For adults and children of any age who can already ride a bike but feel nervous, wobbly or rusty after years of not riding. We cater bike lessons to help improve confidence and technique. A short time at the beginning of the cycling coaching session will focus on the bikes' roadworthiness and positioning to ensure everyone is comfortable and safe while they ride.

For adults or adults with children who want to feel safer riding on local roads in traffic, our bike lessons offer an excellent starting point. An initial cycling skills check before a ride on local roads and trails helps participants learn to ride effectively, improving their confidence and enjoyment. A short segment at the beginning of the session will focus on the bike's roadworthiness and positioning, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and safe.

Life is not all about cycling! Life coaching can help with all aspects of life. It's a method for setting and achieving your own personal goals. whether they are related to sports or simply about spending more quality time with your family.
Achieving anything starts with a thorough evaluation of your own life priorities, where you are at and how to get where you want or need to be.
Each coaching session concludes with a personalized plan to help you move forward.
Our rides on local trails and roads are fun and sociable, suitable for all!

Aimed at families with primary aged children, we provide short rides on local trails, starting and finishing at safe points with minimal road use.
These rides typically cover a distance of about 4 to 8 miles. An parent/adult must join the ride, or alternatively a second intructor can be arranged for an extra fee.
Please bring drinks, suitable clothing, helmets, gloves, and snacks.

For adults and high school-age children, we offer a mini adventure on local routes, including roads and trails, covering around 10 to 15 miles. One parent/adult must accompany children, who should be able to ride safely and independently with traffic.
Please bring snacks and drinks for everyone, along with suitable clothing, helmets, and gloves.

For children under 6 who ride balance bikes, these bike lessons are perfect for getting them ready for pedals.
The sessions focus on learning control and steering, ensuring that these little mites have fun and games as they race around on their balance bikes!
Adults must remain present throughout the session, and we will have benches available for you.
Please bring snacks and drinks. Helmets are essential, and gloves are recommended on colder days.

Join us for exciting children's fun bike parties for up to 8 riders. These need to be booked at least 1-2 months in advance to secure your spot.
The price will include party bags filled with cycling goodies, a medal or cap, snacks and drinks, or an alternative option of a trip to McDonald's for a Happy Meal or a visit to a cafe. Additionally, birthday cakes can be brought along to celebrate at the end of the ride.

This is designed for beginners, making it perfect for anyone interested in a cycling challenge, perhaps to raise funds for charity or just wants to build up their cycling prowess.
Over 8 weeks, participants will start with a 5-mile ride, gradually working up to an exciting 30-mile journey. These require a minimum of 5 riders; therefore, a waiting list will be compiled before the course is arranged. It includes one short evening skills session followed by a ride, and then a progressive weekend r

Or anyone who feels their age! There are no limits to what you can achieve as you get older. We always ride at the pace of the slowest, and as a group, we will all improve our abilities with practice.
Common issues like tight joints, muscle degeneration, and arthritis can all improve over time.
Our bike lessons aim to be slightly progressive each week, tailored to the group's ability.
At the beginning of each session, we'll take a short time to stretch, warm up, and check our bikes.

For women to cycle and socialize together! There is nothing like getting together for a ride in the fresh air with a group of women who you can chat with. It's such a great way to meet others and share experiences. No one will ever be left behind, and the group works together, supports each other, and has fun.
Don't worry about being too slow or holding anyone back; it really doesn't matter, you learn to ride at your own pace and everyone is in the same position.

For those with child carriers who want to build confidence using them, our bike rides provide the perfect opportunity for a short ride with your precious cargo alongside others in the same situation!

Bookings for bike lessons with Bury Bike Skillz must be paid in advance and are non-refundable; they cannot be rearranged without prior agreement from Bury Bike Skillz.
Any child aged under 18 must have a completed Parental Consent Form signed to participate in our cycling coaching sessions.
All children under 18 are required to wear a helmet at all times while riding. For adults, wearing a helmet is strongly recommended but remains a personal choice.
While Bury Bike Skillz strives to conduct safe and enjoyable sessions, it's important to understand that cycling is a sport that carries a risk of injury. Bury Bike Skillz is not liable for any collisions or falls that result in damage to bikes or injuries.
Participants are expected to attend all bike lessons in all weather conditions unless an agreement has been made in advance. Extreme weather conditions will be assessed on the day of your booking.
Please make your bookings at least 24 hours in advance.
Riders should wear suitable clothing appropriate for the weather conditions.
For all cycling activities with Bury Bike Skillz, riders are expected to provide their own bike, helmet, snacks, and drinks, unless previously arranged. Riders participating in rides longer than 2 miles are required to bring an inner tube that fits their bike.
